Intermediate (4/5/6) Parents and Families:
On Monday 11/7, Morton ES will host a fishing day in conjunction with the Department of Fish and Wildlife. This event is free for all students, and each class will have an opportunity to fish with the assistance of staff, department officials, and some high school students who are there to help.
Students will be bringing home the fish they catch for the day. Fish will be cleaned on site, stored in plastic bags, and in ice.
Students in grades 4/5/6 will be transported to the Elementary school at 1:45pm by bus so they are able to participate in this activity. Students in these grades 4/5/6 who get picked up by parents will need to be picked up at the Elementary School, where they will end their school day for the day.
We are looking forward to this experience and hope that our students have an exceptional experience while fishing.
Thank you to the Department of Fish and Wildlife for this opportunity and to our local citizens for putting this together. Hopefully, this can become an annual event.
Please contact the office if you have any questions.

Lewis County Emergency Management has sent us the following about a potential storm event on 11/4: The National Weather Service has forecast widespread heavy rain and windy conditions expected to move into the area on Thursday night through Friday with snow levels rising to above 6000 ft. Saturday the heavy rain continue with breezy conditions and snow levels dropping to 2000-3000 feet. Heavy rain may lead to flooding in low-lying areas and areas with poor drainage. Ponding of water on roadways and poor visibility will lead to difficult travel conditions with high incident rates and/or travel delays. Strongest winds for most areas will be during the day on Friday with gusty winds which may cause power outages and power line damage.
