To Morton School District Families and Staff:
There is a lot of information on the media about Coronavirus, or COVID-19. When health concerns like this arise our district will work with local, county, and state public health officials in order to stay vigilant as to any issues that may affect our students or staff. We are keeping our communications lines open with the agencies involved and are making local plans for a variety of situations should the need arise.
How can you prevent the spread of COVID-19?
Prevention starts with practicing good personal health habits:
1. Wash your hands often with soap and water;
2. Stay home when you’re sick;
3. Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue;
4. Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects;
5. Getting plenty of rest, drinking fluids, eating healthy foods, and managing your stress can help you prevent
getting COVID-19 and recover from it if you do.
The Washington State Department of Health has established a call center to address questions from the public. If you have questions about what is happening in Washington state please call 1-800-525-0127 and press #.
More information on COVID-19 is available from the Washington State Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
In our district buildings, we are instructing custodians and staff to make cleaning touchpoints a high priority, and instruct students on the five (5) items listed above.
Thank you,
John Hannah
Morton School District Superintendent
