A huge thank you to Stacy Merriman who was able to address the blocked sewer line at the elementary school. Troubles began near the end of yesterday and we were able to finish the day despite having to close bathrooms as in the basement. Stacy had help arrive just before school began and within 15 minutes everything was working as it should. Both buildings had plans on how to act in case this took longer as we were ready to move the elementary kids over to the Jr/Sr HS. Luckily this wasn't needed and school ran as normal. Thank you Stacy, we appreciate all of your work.

On Tuesday the MWP community learned that we lost one of our own, a former player and coach in Darian Atkinson. The entire MWP community, on behalf of both districts, wishes to share its condolences to the family and friends of Darian as the loss of this young and vibrant person is a troubling one that we are all struggling to deal with. Losing someone so young and the mother to a young child is hard to understand. As we all continue to traverse the world COVID has created around us seems to be an ever-changing one, and seeing this terrible virus take another life, and one so young is very difficult. As we move through the grief process let us all remember the amazing person that Darian was. A mother, a player for MWP, a student at White Pass, a health-care worker at Arbor Health, a daughter, a friend, a sister, and most of all a person who was a joy to be around.

Morton High School ASB announces Homecoming 2021

Yesterday we learned that Lewis County has lost one of our champions in Gary Stamper who passed away due to COVID. Gary has served this county, especially the east end of our county for decades. His service and commitment to all of us who live in this wonderful piece of Washington will not be forgotten. He coached our kids, helped lead educators to make an impact, and then committed himself to county service as our Commissioner. Gary was a leader, a caring soul, and friend to everyone in our county and everyone in the east end of Lewis County. On behalf of the entire Morton school community, we want to express our deep sadness for the loss of Gary to his family and pass on that we appreciate immensely all that he has done. Gary, you will be missed.

We know that many people have not received survey information in the mail, but we want to hear from everyone. Please follow the link or the QR code to access your survey.
Please note: the URL is case sensitive: The last four letters are c, m capital I, h.
Paper surveys are also available. Call the district office to get one.

Recently the WIAA and DOH changed their guidance for basketball that players who are unvaccinated must be tested twice each week in order to be eligible to play. Today potential players were informed of this change and provided an informational letter. We have some tests on-site for players as of now, but there is a concern if the supply chain of tests will remain consistent to keep up with demand. A copy of the letter given to players can be found here: https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/1573862/09232021_Basketball_Letter.pdf

Jr./Sr. HS Families who would like Skyward access to view their student's grades can now call the High School Office to request their login information. The office is open from 7:30-3:05 pm each day.

Please see attached letter regarding vaccinations for Morton Jr./Sr. HS students.
